Change can be a good thing when done in moderation.

How can you improve your family’s health condition, if you will not stop preparing food the same unhealthy ways, passed from generation to generation? Help your children and relatives break the cycle of poor health in older age by cutting back on fried, sugary, and heavily salted foods. Limit or eliminate foods that are high in saturated animal fats and refined carbohydrates ( rice, bread, and pasta) to less than 3 times in a week, if you must have it. Do not allow you mind and cravings control your destiny. Be the change in your health!

Is every thing going on with my health possibly related to the foods I am eating or side effects of my medications? I’d like to hear your thoughts.

The reality of skin color and health.

As coronavirus continue to circulate it appears to affect minority at a greater severity than other groups of people. Is this mere coincidence or design? Something we do not quite know yet. However, we can speculate and say its related to the amount of comorbid conditions we as colored individuals live with such as: hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, higher glucose levels. Overall lack of mobility due to poor desire to be more active or past trauma affect our colored individuals at an alarming rate.

Some issues related to inactivity are genetics, others are cultural or learned.

Change is necessary to sustain life in a healthier way, by improving eating habits and being aware. We must also take responsiblity for our actions regading nutrient intake. We must reduce the sugars consumed daily, cut back on processed foods, and lay off the rice and pastas daily. We must also learn to eat without deep frying and buttering everything. This can reduce many of the medication needs as well as the numbers on the scale.  Drinking water frequently and without sweetener is a must! Sufficient sleep, stress reduction, and bowel movements daily are a requirement. If these minimal todos aren’t considered, than I suggest hiding from the outside world should be continued. You can only save you from coronavirus. Ths health fix is making changes to everyday nonsense. My thoughts food can be considered the silent war on humanity… without self-control all are at risk. What’s an over medicated population… an unware one. Sad, but true. – Dr. Jae

What you eat and physical activity makes a difference.

Bottomline! What you eat and what you do through out the day makes a difference. The body needs your help to stay strong and functioning optimally. There are so many people with misconceptions that we dont need protein sources in greater amounts. Thats totally wrong protein allow for greater performance in every area of your life from physical movements to overall alertness, and healing. Those who lack usually take longer to see improvements in there cell regeneration and body’s over all function. As to physical activity, it must be strategic in many ways. Examples include to improve mobility, to improve structure, to withstand impacts, to repair rapidly, and more. This day in age we forget with age comes degeneration of overall function so we must put in the work. Our quality of life is only sustained temporarily with medications and doctor visits. If you are not in you best condition its ur own fault in many cases because you are relying on other individuals, not yourself. Take control, fix your health! Do not just rely on health insurance to fix you because it doesnt. Health insurance is aid for emergent situations and prevention, not maintenance of overall health. That is your job, to learn about your body and know what makes it work optimally. I can help! I care!

As Americans’ fear of Covid-19 changes.

I start by first sending my condolences to every American and family that has lost a relative to coronavirus symptoms and Covid-19.  As an essential worker, pharmacist, and nutritionist; I have experienced fear on the inside of the hospital and out in the community alike. Just as a reminder the coronavirus is still circulating globally.  There are many important things to remember such as hygiene and vitamins. Vitamins like zinc, ascorbic acid, thiamine, D, and folic acid can be vital in preventing lungs being compromised, as preventative care.  In addition to those with unsual health conditions are those with immune deficiencies; continue to adhere to drug therapies and consult your provider or pharmacist before adding over the counter drugs to regimen. Also, improve daily food choices and stay hydrated through out the day. Consult for more information regarding Covid-19 care.

Is my health really affected by my food choices when I take medications to fix my problems?

Absolutely! The strange thing is, medications are often a short-term fix, if you do not correct the problem. Many believe medications allow continued poor behavior with food and lack of self discipline. The body is is like a car’s oil leak. You can keep putting oil because you don’t want to fix it right away. As a result, the oil gets in places it shouldn’t be and now the repairs are more costly. The body is the same. Take cigarette smoker and an inhaler. The smoke makes it difficult to breathe by damaging the lungs over time with constant mucus production and more. Many smokers don’t realize the damage caused, and wait until its to late to make the change. Life is tough! I am aware because addiction is real to sugar, salt, nicotine, caffeine, medicines, sex, alcohol, and even exercise. The idea is to enjoy everything in moderate, and peace with your health will come with help and guidance. There is no reason to be the person afraid to change. Damn what people say! You want to live long and comfortably so do what is needed now.
